About Mark Reid
Dear friends and neighbors,
After much prayer, reflection, and conversations with my family and community leaders, I’m honored to announce my candidacy for Bethel School Board, Position 3.
For over 35 years, I’ve proudly called this community home. I met my wife of 30 years while shopping at Costco (she must’ve needed help!), since that time, we’ve raised three children here in Spanaway.
In recent years, I’ve watched with concern as government overreach and district decisions have distanced parents from schools. Declining enrollment and a shift toward ideology over education have left many families feeling unheard. Meanwhile, parental involvement continues to be pushed aside at the state level.
I believe every child deserves a safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environment—and every parent deserves a voice in their child’s education. I’m putting kids and families first.
It’s time to restore trust, raise standards, and strengthen the connection between our schools, families, and community. Let’s bring back a spirit of hope and partnership.
